terhadap Kinerja Perusahaan: Studi Kasus PT XYZ

Abstract

Nowadays, food industries face a lot of challenges and problems at the same time, as business competition is very tough.  People’s compsumtion life style changes, and raw food material becomes scarce; therefore, PT XYZ, which is a family business company, has to struggle to survive and grow. In fact, innovation becomes one of the most important factors that leads companies to win the competition. PT XYZ, therefore, has to keep on innovating its production process and products. Being innovative means that PT XYZ has to apply learning culture as it encourages knowledge management (KM). In other words, the learning culture will support the KM activities, which eventually will result in high corporate performance. This article discusses to which extent PT XYZ has adopted learning culture refected on the seven dimensions of Learning Organization. A quantitative analysis was used to identify current learning culture, and a qualitative approach was used to explain the role of knowledge management in the learning cutture.

Abstract

In order to create a sustainable competitive advantage, companies nowadays should ofer a superior customer value. One way in achieving this is by understanding their stakeholders and building a long-term relationship with them. This paper is intended to map the stakeholders of Company A (a telecommunication company) using the “six-market-model”. Furthermore one form of a long term relationship, i.e. alliance, is thoroughly analyzed and predicted. The alliance of Company A and Bank X is studied as a case in this research. Analysis shows that this kind of relationship, the alliance, has the potential in giving mutual beneft for each party involved. It could also serve as a source to enhance the company’s competitive advantage. This alliance is predicted to be successful in the long term for three reasons: because it is strongly supported by full commitment of senior management; because it has high alliance competences; and because it has idiosyncratic resources..

STRATEGIC ALLIANCES IN THE ASIA PACIFIC

An Overview of Strategic Orientation and Performance in Malaysia

Abstract
 
This article presents an overview of the strategic orientation and performance of the cooperative alliances entered into by Malaysian companies in Asia Pacifc.. A questionnaire survey to 433 companies was conducted to study the operations of their strategic alliances in Asia Pacifc.. A total of 182 companies or 42.0% responded to the survey. It reveals that the companies are mostly local market oriented, and their success is closely associated with three factors; working relationships with partners, difculties in partnering agreements, and difculties arising from environment and cultural diferences. The three factors above are important regardless of the varying objectives, motives and opinions concerning the benefts and governance of the alliances. In addition to flling a gap in the literature, the study can also serve as a useful reference for Malaysian companies assessing business opportunities in Asia Pacifc, which may be actively searching for potential alliance partners and also for foreign companies in seeking business partnership in Malaysia.

MEASUREMENT EQUIVALENCE/INVARIANCE

                       A Requirement to Conducting Cross-Groups Comparisons

Abstract
 
The establishment of Measurement Equivalence/Invariance (ME/I) is a logical prerequisite to conducting substantive cross-groups comparisons, for example tests of group mean differences, invariance of structural parameter estimates. In agreement with this argument, this paper aims to (1) demonstrate the stages to establish ME/I test, (2) provide an example of ME/I application on customer satisfaction survey across three groups of consumer, (3) demonstrate the steps should be carried out if the measurement were not perceived equivalently by respondents. Conclusions and future research directions are presented.

SUBSIDIARY ROLES ON THE MNC STRATEGY

Abstract
 
This article is a conceptual and typological framework that delineates the subsidiary role and its infuence on the MNC strategy. The purpose of this study is two fold. First we want to formulate proposition for testing the relationship between the network embeddedness, resource dependence and subsidiary influence on the corporate strategy. Secondly we want to suggest a typology for determination of the specifc characteristics of subsidiaries that are simply implementors of HQ assigned strategy, have a global subsidiary mandates or are somewhere in between. Finally the article suggests direction for future research.

7 Aspek Penyunting

Dalam konteks penyuntingan naskah, ada tujuh aspek yang disunting sebagai indikator penilaian kelayakan naskah. Adapun ketujuh aspek tersebut sebagai berikut:

  1. keterbacaan (readability) dan kejelasan (legibility);
  2. ketaatasasan atau konsistensi;
  3. ketatabahasaaan;
  4. kemenarikan gaya bahasa;
  5. ketelitian fakta dan data;
  6. kesopanan dan kelegalan;
  7. kehematan produksi (rincian biaya dan spesifikasi produk).

Dari ketujuh aspek tersebut terlihat bahwa masalah keterbacaan dan kebahasaan naskah juga menjadi poin penting. Naskah yang mengandung banyak kesalahan bahasa tentu memiliki tingkat keterbacaan serta kejelasan yang rendah sehingga bisa merepotkan pembaca sasaran.

Untuk itu, penyunting menggunakan empati dengan menempatkan diri sebagai pembaca sasaran, sekaligus menggunakan pengetahuan kebahasaannya guna membantu penulis/ penerjemah menampilkan naskah yang layak baca.

Hal itulah yang menjadi filosofi penyuntingan naskah bahwa penyunting berfungsi menjembatani antara kepentingan penulis/penerjemah dan pembaca sasaran. Dalam hal penerapan EYD, editor bertugas mematut ejaan yang terdapat di dalam naskah. Apa yang dilakukan penyunting terhadap sebuah naskah?

Ada lima aktivitas yang dilakukan dalam penyuntingan naskah sebagai berikut.

  • Pengabaian yaitu tetap membiarkan bagian naskah apa adanya karena sudah benar, akurat, atau memenuhi syarat layak dari penerbit.
  • Perbaikan/penyesuaian yaitu memperbaiki bagian naskah sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa ataupun gaya selingkung.
  • Pengubahan yaitu mengubah kalimat, paragraf, atau struktur dalam naskah sesuai dengan kejelasan dan standar yang ditetapkan penerbit sehingga naskah memiliki keterbacaan tinggi.
  • Pengurangan yaitu menghilangkan bagian naskah tertentu dalam hal bagian tersebut tidak diperlukan ataupun guna mengefisienkan halaman atau mengepaskan halaman hingga berkelipatan 8.
  • Penambahan yaitu menambahi bagian naskah yang dianggap penting untuk dimasukkan ataupun guna mengepaskan halaman hingga berkelipatan 8.
